Thank you for visiting my online headquarters!
It has been my distinct honor to serve you and the State of Maryland in Annapolis during this 430th Session of The Maryland General Assembly. The 90-day Session began January 11, 2012, and ended April 9, 2012. Despite the many challenges we faced –state budget shortfalls, continued high unemployment and etc., my colleagues and I have worked to make a positive difference for our 40th district constituents as well as for all the citizens of Maryland, When I was first ran for the office of State Senator I promised you that I would fight to move the age at which we allow children to drop out of school from 16 to 18. I am proud to say to you that we have finally accomplished that objective. You should also know that in order to deal with our troubled children In 2008 I passed legislation that established alternative schools across the state that assist in becoming productive.
As you know, it is my intent to introduce and support meaningful legislation that will enrich the quality of life for the citizens of Baltimore and all Marylanders. I am proud to say that we were able to continue that tradition during this term.
Thank you for your telephone calls, letters, office visits, e-mails, and committee testimony. I welcome and value your participation because it provides context and voice to the debate and helps to advance the legislative agenda by supporting passage of these bills. If you go to the legislative summery section of this my website you can see from the bill summaries, my sponsored legislation covered a range of issues touching a broad cross section of the community.
Continue to come back and check for updates and happenings in the 40th District.
Yours in Service,

Catherine E. Pugh
